Ardross is our lakeside lodge holiday in the Cotswolds for groups who want time away that still feels calm. Comfortable beds, open space and the lake right there when you’re finally ready to switch from idle paddling to holding your breath, after committing to taking a dip.
It’s a place where eight people can relax without feeling on top of each other. Naturally, you’ll gravitate to the kitchen, but there’s no chance of rubbing shoulders, especially when you can spread out to the deck as well (with seating right by the hot tub).
Here’s how it might all play out: Mornings starting slowly, with coffee overlooking the lake, and the kids eager to get out on the water before breakfast. Afternoons, you head out and explore local villages (see ‘exploring nearby’). Then by evening it’s back to basecamp for fun and simplicity: Dinner indoors or out, the hot tub gently bubbling on the deck, and that easy flow between being together and sneaking off to do your own thing… Bliss.

South Cerney is only a few minutes away and is one of the area’s most established villages. Think traditional stone cottages, small, friendly shops, lovely pubs and delightful cafés. Tree-lined lanes and village greens all lead directly towards scenic lakeside routes, so nature’s nearby even when you’re shopping.
Cirencester is about 10-15 minutes by car and offers boutique shopping, restaurants, markets and a rich sense of history. Kemble Station is also close, with direct trains into London, making this lakeside holiday lodge in the Cotswolds practical for quick weekend visits as well as longer stays.
